Fire Station Tour

We went on a tour of the Vernal Fire Station last week with our Vernal Mom's Group. Jaylee and Bretten loved seeing the firetrucks and the cool things fire fighters use. The Sheriff of Vernal is also a fire-fighter and he gave the kids a great presentation. He is really good with kids and made it a lot of fun for them! He even let all the kids get in the fire truck! I don't know if Kaysen understood a whole lot of what was going on, but he had fun getting out of the house and seeing the cool things at the fire station!

The kids posing for a picture with the fire-man in front of the fire-truck!

Bretten and Jaylee sitting in front of the fire-truck!

Bretten, Jaylee, and Kaysen stopping for a quick picture!

Bretten climbing through the fire-truck!

Bretten and the other kids listening to the Sheriff explain reasons they might need to use an ax!

Jaylee got to hold the hose to see how heavy it was. She could barely hold it up! When Bretten tried to lift it, the hose almose went right to the ground. Good thing the Sheriff was holding onto it too!

Checking out all the cool fire-trucks!

Listening to the fire-man (& sheriff) talk about the dangers of playing with matches and what happens when the fire-men have to dress in their special equipment to come in the houses. It was cool to have them dress in their equipment and explain everything to the kids because they look a little scary by the time they are all done, but the kids all thought it was neat!
